SHEILA NORTLEY
Sheila Nortley is an award-winning writer, producer and executive producer from South London, working across film and television in the UK and internationally.
Her television credits include two global Netflix hits: Harlan Coben’s Stay Close, starring Cush Jumbo, James Nesbitt and Richard Armitage, and Rapman’s Supacell, the South London-set superhero drama which reached number one on Netflix globally.
In 2024, Sheila was named a Broadcast Hot Shot Producer.
Sheila is currently Head of Drama and Executive Producer at Osun Group, where she leads the company’s scripted film and television slate.
Current projects include Kill the Bedfords, an apocalyptic dark comedy created, written by and starring O-T Fagbenle, in development with Amazon MGM Studios, and The Catch, Yrsa Daley-Ward’s acclaimed debut novel, which Osun has optioned for television.
Alongside her work as an executive producer, Sheila continues to write and develop her own film and television projects.
Her award-winning short Osoro, developed with Cameron Roach’s Rope Ladder Fiction and starring Nadine Mills and Shingai Shoniwa, is now being developed as a feature film with My Accomplice.
Sheila is also developing her debut feature Restful Harbour, a magical-realist coming-of-age drama spanning Britain and Ghana. Originally titled Birdsong, the screenplay was selected for The Brit List and developed with support from the BFI, Film London and BBC Films.
She began her career at Aml Ameen’s Ameen Dream Entertainment before helping to launch Kingdom Drama School. Her earlier work includes Sable Fable, Limbo, Moon Over Aburi and Sometimes I Feel, with films screening at festivals internationally.
Her accolades include the Woman of the Future Award for Arts & Culture, becoming an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society, selection for BFI NETWORK x BAFTA Crew, and recognition as a Broadcast Hot Shot Producer.
Across her work, Sheila champions distinctive, emotionally resonant storytelling with global ambition.
